IRMO — After being diagnosed with Cholangiocarcinoma November 16, 2009, Bridget peacefully and gracefully passed away in her sleep. Bridget was always a very active person who had a love for the outdoors from gardening to camping to bird watching. Bridget loved and cared for the people she worked with at Dutch Fork High School and all her friends she made along the way. Her most treasured moments were when she was at home with her family and cats: Chole', Zilla and Sasha. Bridget's big beautiful smile could light up a room and lift anyone's spirits, she will be missed. She touched so many lives and always put others first. Bridget's faith in the Lord was undaunted and through her fight with this rare disease, her only concern was for her family and friends. Bridget is survived by her husband Michael; daughter Amanda, stepdaughter Kaeli; father Robert Lapsley, mother Wendy Lapsley; brothers, David, Kenny, Robert and Steven. Bridget was the youngest of her siblings and is also survived by a number of other family members, too many to list. Bridget's memorial service will be held at Chapin Presbyterian Church, 600 Old Lexington Hwy., Chapin, SC 29036 Monday, February 8, 2010 at 6:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made online to The Cholangiocarcinoma Foundation at www.cholangiocarcinoma.org.
Only the main photo has been provided by the family or the funeral home.
To Bridget's Family -- I read Bridget's obituary and my heart broke. I lost my son, John, to this disease in October 2009. John and Bridgit shared the same birthdate -- John would have been 31 years of age on this upcoming St. Patrick's Day. I ache for you all and will say a special prayer for Bridget on March 17. My condolences to you all - Nancy Ur
